Comic-Con Wrap Up

This is going to be a lengthy post, I will be updating it with:
- New casting news! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH2ri8RhSnw)
- My thoughts on (the lack of) Arianne Martell (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/29/game-of-thrones-arianne-martell_n_5629728.html) (http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/game-of-thrones-cut-feminist-plot)
- Videos from the panel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfgCpkHW1IE)
- George R.R. Martin's interview with Vulture (http://www.vulture.com/2014/07/george-rr-martin-winds-of-winter-over-show.html)

Be on the look out for some TL;DR goodness, assuming there's anyone reading this to begin with.

Season 4 Blu-Ray's Are Coming In February

Mark your calendars, Game of Thrones Season 4's Blu-Ray release date is February 17th, 2015! The packaging seems pretty snazzy, although I hope Best Buy continues their sigil-artwork, hopefully by adding a Martell slipcase, which you know I'll be snatching up!

So far announced extras include a video featuring interviews with all the people who were killed last season (so it should be lengthy), an interview with Bryan Cogman (who wrote two of my favorite episodes from last season - Oathkeeper and The Laws of Gods and Men), and Deleted Scenes. How funny would it be if one of the deleted scenes was Lady Stoneheart? I'd gag.

Amazon's current pre-order price is $44.99 as of 7/16/2014, which is pretty good. Beware though that the price will probably drop to $29.99 on release day at Best Buy, but you'll also be covered by Amazon's pre-order price guarantee. Personally, I'm waiting to see what BB does with those sigil covers!

Who Yo Baby Mamma Jon Snow?

That is NOT Ned Stark's hair! And I don't think it's a weave.

Much has been theorized about Jon Snow's lineage in the popular R+L=J theory. The Huffington Post recently posted a video that delves into this theory better than any other blog or video I've seen, and it does so without spoiling A Feast for Crows or A Dance with Dragons. None of this has been confirmed by George RR Martin, but if you like fan theories, this is the best of them, and most likely to be true.

Game of Thrones Receives 20 Emmy Nominations, Oberyn Gets Snubbed Again!

Don't fuck it up Emmy voters! You've already done it once so far this year!

It's that time again, the Emmy's have been announced and I'm a little bit disappointed that my future husband favorite guest star Pedro Pascal was not nominated, especially considering how memorable his role was this season when compared to Diana Rigg, who is nominated in the same category for Outstanding Guest Performance on the women's side. First he gets his face smashed in by The Mountain, now this? Gurl can't catch a break!

I don't want to be a complete Negative Nancy - Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage are both nominees for their respective gendered Outstanding Supporting Role awards. Lena Headey was tremendous this year, so I'm happy she's nominated, although I'll be shocked if any actress beats out Anna Gunn's performance in Ozymandias Breaking Bad. I'm rooting for Dinklage to take the Emmy, and I think he stands a great chance at it!! Lets be real Emmy voters, no Supporting Actors gave a dramatic performance quite like Peter in the trial scene, and in his doomed dungeon interactions - especially the one he has with Mr. Pascal where they both manage to quietly break our hearts!

You can find a complete list of all the Emmy noms here.

A Song of Ice and Fire: Entire series recapped in two minutes (SPOILERS)

I found this video on the Winter Is Coming fansite this morning, and I love it! This is basically me anytime someone has asked what these books are about. There's so much going on, you really can't describe 5000+ pages of plot in a few sentences.

Obvi there are book spoilers, but he goes in chronological order as best he can, so if you've only watched the show, you should be fine up until the 1:55 mark.

He probably did a better job than I could.

Game of Podcasts *UPDATE*

There is actually a site streaming many Game of Thrones' podcasts; including a few of my favorites, as well as a couple decent ones that didn't make the cut. Boars, Gore & Swords is a popular GoT podcast on iTunes and they show up in this playlist but I find the hosts too obnoxious, so listen at your own risk to that particular one. You will also find Game of Owns, Cast of Kings, Cast of Thrones, and a few others - which is great if you're looking for a sample of what's out there.
